Suspension "Shake" & "Shimmy"

Loose, under-responsive steering can allow a vehicle to wander or reduce a driver’s ability to avoid a hazard. Drivers may feel symptoms of suspension-part issues in the steering wheel. Additional “play,” pull, rattling, or shimmy can all indicate a problem.

Alignment issues can contribute to improper and accelerated tire wear just as uneven tire wear can also be an indicator that there are problems with a vehicle’s steering or suspension parts.

Brakes Breakdown

If you suspect the slightest brake issue, your vehicle should be checked soon. A properly maintained and operating brake system helps ensure safe vehicle control and operation. Brakes are a normal wear item and eventually will need repair or replacement.

Some symptoms to look out for are:

  1. Brake pedal pulsates when you apply the brakes
  2. Brake pedal feels “mushy”
  3. Noisy when you step on the brake pedal
  4. Low brake fluid

We also service your ABS needs. Anytime you suspect a problem, or you have one of these symptoms, it is time to get it checked. You can trust us to make sure your alignment and brake service are complete and done right.

Family Owned. Family Run.

Accurate Alignment was founded by Phil Zuidema in August of 1976. Phil had worked in the automotive field his whole life throughout his high school and college careers. He continued his education at Ferris State University in Automotive Technology and graduated in 1958.

After working in multiple shops, Phil decided it was time to step out on his own and he started Accurate Alignment and Brake Service. Phil and his son Scott opened the shop in August of 1976. Scott attended Kent Skills Center and studied Automotive Technology while in High School. He graduated in 1979 and went to work full time at the shop.

The Next Generation

Phil and Scott continued to work together until Phil pseudo-retired in 2007. Phil's grandson Nathan joined the team while he was in high school in 2002. While in high school, Nathan attended Kent Skills and graduated in 2006. He continued his automotive education at the University of Northern Ohio, graduating with a degree in Automotive Technology and Alternative Fuels in 2008. While attending college, Nathan would come home on weekends and work at the shop. Nathan now works full time at the shop with Scott.

Scott purchased the business from his dad in 2008, although Phil continued to go get parts and come to the shop to help whenever he was able. Phil passed away in 2016, having just seen Accurate Alignment reach its 40th anniversary! Scott and Nathan continue the tradition set by Phil, still today, with hopes of the shop seeing another 40 years!
